Man Arrested With .54 Grams of Methamphetamine on Olympic Boulevard

Santa Monica Police discovered the drugs after the suspect attempted to sit on the plastic bag filled with the contraband.

On Jan. 18 at approximately 7:20 p.m. officers responded to a call of narcotic sales in the area of 505 Olympic Blvd.

The officers were given a description of the person allegedly selling the narcotics. When they arrived, they found a person matching the description given to them, standing on the sidewalk. They began to talk to him and noticed that as they did, he put his hands in his pockets.

The officers asked him to remove his hands from his pockets because they thought that he could have a weapon in his pants pocket.  As the person removed his hands, he had one of his fists clenched as if he had something in his hand. The officers asked him to sit on the curb while they conducted their investigation.
