Man Jumps From Shore Hotel's 4th Floor

Police said they found drugs in the man's hotel room. He remains in critical condition.

A man who leaped from the fourth floor of the Shore Hotel Sunday remains today in critical condition with severe injuries to his head and body, authorities said.

Firefighters found the semi-conscious man at about 12:30 a.m, lying on the west sidewalk of Second Street, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

While investigating, police found marijuana, hydrocodone, LSD and prescription cough syrup inside the man's hotel room, where he was staying with two other guests, Eric Reich of Thousand Oaks and Kim Soo Min of Los Angeles, Sgt. Richard Lewis said.

Reich, 19, and Soo Min, 20, were each arrested and booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Their bail was each set at $2,500.

The name of injured man is being withheld by the police department.

Located at 1515 Ocean Ave., the Shore Hotel opened in October.
