At least one person was killed early Saturday morning in a four-vehicle crash in the McClure Tunnel where the Santa Monica (10) Freeway meets Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica, authorities said.
The crash was reported at 1:35 a.m. in the westbound lanes, said California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball.
One of the vehicles became fully engulfed in flames, he said.
A SigAlert was issued at 2:05 a.m. and westbound traffic was being
diverted at Fourth Street, Kimball said.
The victim's body was visible underneath one of the wrecked vehicles, said a news photographer at the scene.
