Monday traffic blues worsened for Santa Monica commuters when a pickup truck smashed into a big rig about 10:40 a.m., closing the Cloverfield Boulevard onramp to the 10 freeway for more than two hours.
A Ford pickup making a right onto the eastbound onramp smashed into the flat bed big rig that was turning left turn onto the onramp on a green light, according to CHP spokeswoman Karina Munoz.
The big rig rolled over into bushes on the onramp's shoulder. It took crews until 1 p.m. to clear the roadway, Munoz said.
No one was injured.
The closure caused heavy traffic on surface streets, according to Santa Monica Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Lewis.
