Pacific Coast Highway Fire Now Out

The Los Angeles Fire Department says it has knocked down the fire in Pacific Palisades, but sections of the Pacific Coast Highway are still closed in both directions.

The Los Angeles Fire Department says it has now fully contained a fire that broke out around 3 p.m. Tuesday.

One hundred and sixty firefighters extinguished the fire in one hour and 39 minutes, said LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey. The fire was contained to 10 acres and there was no structural damage and no one was injured.

Traffic in both directions on the Pacific Coast Highway is still closed from the Westbound 10 freeway to Temescal Canyon.

The City of Santa Monica issued an alert stating that there is heavy traffic congestion in Santa Monica.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
