Police on the Lookout for Carjacking Suspect Considered Armed and Dangerous
During a test drive of a car from a Santa Monica Mercedes dealership, David Guyer is alleged to have forced out the salesman, saying he had a gun. Officials believe he could be on the Westside or in the South Bay.
Santa Monica police are on the lookout for an ex-Marine they consider to be armed and dangerous after he allegedly carjacked a Mercedes he was test driving.
Police allege that David Guyer test drove a car at the W.I. Simonson Mercedes dealership on Wilshire Boulevard on Nov. 3. In the middle of the ride, he told the salesman he had a gun and ordered the employee out of the car, officials said.
The vehicle was recovered six days later in Hermosa Beach, according to a Santa Monica Police Department press release.

On March 19, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Guyer for carjacking. He is described as a 45-year-old male white adult, 6 fee, two inches tall, 190 lbs, brown hair and green eyes with a closely trimmed goatee.
Guyer served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is purported to be proficient in martial arts. He has previously lived in Tracy and Venice and may be in the West Los Angeles or South Bay area.

“HE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS,” the release states in all capital letters.
