Remember to Signal when Turning, Else You Could be Cited

For the month of January, officials are stepping up enforcement on motorists making unsafe turns.

Motorists, be forewarned. For the entire month of January, Santa Monica Police are stepping up enforcement on motorists making unsafe turns, officials said.

Each month, the traffic enforcement unit focuses on a different driving behavior that causes traffic collisions. This month, the traffic officers will, in addition to their normal duties, focus on motorists making unsafe turns.

Motorists who are caught making make turns without properly signaling or giving enough space to make the turn safely will be cited.
