Santa Monica Police Seek to Reunite Stolen Bikes With Owners

The thefts of the bicycles from carports in Santa Monica date back to October 2012.

Police are looking for the owners of more than 40 bicycles recovered following the arrest of a theft suspect.

The thefts of the bicycles from carports in Santa Monica date back to October 2012, according to Sgt. Richard Lewis of the Santa Monica Police Department.

The arrest was made on May 6, but the suspect's name was not released. The bicycles were recovered from the suspect's Los Angeles home during a search warrant.

Victims are being invited to view the recovered stolen bicycles at the Santa Monica Police Department located at 333 Olympic Dr., Santa Monica on June 22 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on June 29 between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Victims are asked to bring a copy of their police report; the report number and/or any receipts or photos that will help identify the bike.
