Santa Monica Teen Critically Injured in Hit and Run; Police Seek Public's Help

The 17-year-ol girl was struck by a Toyota Corolla around 10:50 p.m. on Tuesday in the 2300 block of San Vicente Blvd.

Police today asked for the public's help in locating a hit-and-run driver who struck and critically injured a 17-year-old girl as she jogged on a Santa Monica street.

The collision happened around 10:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of San Vicente Boulevard, said Santa Monica police Sgt. Jay Moroso.

The Santa Monica teen was running east on San Vicente, near the curb, when she was hit by an eastbound vehicle described as a dark gray 2010 to 2012 Toyota Corolla, Sgt. Jay Moroso said.

The girl, whose name was withheld, was hospitalized in critical condition.

"The vehicle is believed to have noticeable collision damage to the front end,'' Moroso said.
