SMPD Alert Public About Sex Offender

Police are asking the public for help as it seeks to locate a registered sex offender, the spokesman for the informed Santa Monica Patch on Thursday.

Aaron Montgomery, 32, has convictions for soliciting lewd acts with minors. His past offenses also include stalking, and loitering at a school.

A judge previously ordered Montgomery to register as a sex offender following his offenses in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles. He targets middle school and high school girls, according to police.

Montgomery is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes; his height is 6’1” and his weight is 160 pounds. Police also say Montgomery is a transient and rides a bicycle. He frequently wears black clothing, including a trench coat, as well as a tool belt with tools. In the past, he has approached females, talked with them and offered to give them what he calls a business card, according to police.

The SMPD is asking that individuals with information pertaining to inappropriate activities by Montgomery call Det. Trapnell at 310.458.2256.
