Spill Prompts Closure of Olympic Drive in Santa Monica
The cleanup is expected to last four to six hours.
A two-block section of a Santa Monica street was closed Tuesday so crews could clean a spill of hydraulic fluid from a truck.
The spill was reported about 8:45 a.m., and prompted the closure of Olympic Drive between Main and Fourth streets, Santa Monica fire Capt. Jason Wells said.
The truck from which the fluid apparently spilled came from a construction site across from Santa Monica City Hall, Wells said.
