Teacher's Aid Accused of Sexual Battery

Authorities allege the 34-year-old aid grabbed a Santa Monica High School student's buttocks.

A part-time instructional aid at Santa Monica High School has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery against a 15-year-old student, the Santa Monica Police Department announced Friday.

City prosecutors filed the charge after the student reported she was grabbed on the buttocks by an instructional aid assigned to work with special education students, according to spokesman Sgt. Richard Lewis.

Kelvin Ramirez, 34, is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 27 in Los Angeles Superior Court. He has not yet been arrested.
