Wisconsin Woman Killed in Santa Monica Hit-and-Run ID'd

Police are still searching for the suspect, who may have been driving an Infiniti G35.

A Wisconsin woman fatally injured in a hit-and-run on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica early Saturday was identified today.

Kathryn Theis, 61, was fatally struck in the 1700 block of Ocean Boulevard, as she and her 32-year-old daughter crossed the road about 1 a.m. near Loew's Hotel, according to police and a coroner's spokesman.

The daughter, reportedly a Santa Monica resident, suffered minor injuries, police said.

The suspect vehicle, which should have front-end damage, was described as a silver sports coupe with tinted windows, Santa Monica police Sgt. Jay Moroso said. According to broadcast reports, the car may have been an Infiniti G35.
