Woman Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted in Santa Monica

The incident, which also involved a carjacking, occurred early Saturday morning.

A woman was kidnapped and sexually assaulted after being carjacked early Saturday morning, the said Tuesday night.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was accosted by two men after she stopped at a red light at the intersection of 26th St. and Colorado Ave., according to police. One of the men was holding a gun.

The two men got into the woman's car and sexually assaulted her after driving to the 1900 block of Stewart St. The suspects abandoned the woman at the location and fled in her vehicle. The vehicle was found behind a property near the 2700 block of Kansas Ave. Police say that, at 4:15 a.m., the car was involved in a hit-and-run crash with a parked car at the 2200 block of Delaware Ave.

The woman met with police officers at the 1600 block of Cloverfield Blvd., which is two and a half blocks west of 26th and Colorado. The incident occurred after the woman left the CVS Pharmacy at 26th St. and Santa Monica Blvd. around 4 a.m., and headed south on 26th.

Police say the man who was wielding the gun is a Hispanic male, age 17 to 23. He is 5'5"; weighs 150 to 160 pounds; and has a heavy build, medium complexion and waxed eyebrows, according to police. Also, they say he was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt; black jeans; and a black bandana that covered his face.

Police describe the other suspect as a similarly aged Hispanic male, between 5'11" to 6' and weighing 175 to 190 pounds. He has a thin/skinny build and a medium complexion, according to police. They say he was also wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt; blue jeans; and a black bandana that covered his face.
