Compost Giveaway! Saturday, July 14th

City of Santa Monica’s Resource Recovery & Recycling Division hosts its quarterly Compost Giveaway to encourage participation in the Yard Clippings Compost Collection Program

Tons of compost made from the City’s green cart program will be given to Santa Monica residents.

WHAT:
The quarterly Compost Giveaway is a free event for Santa Monica residents. The City is providing (5) large burlap coffee sacks of nutrient-rich compost per household. Compost has been recognized as a valuable soil amendment for centuries. Its use in gardens is an effective way to improve soil health, increase plant production, and reduce the use of water, chemical fertilizers and pesticides.  Bring your own shovel, gloves and containers if not using burlap bags.
