The Ocean Park Branch will showcase its new renovations with an open house next month. The Friends of the Santa Monica Public Library are putting on the celebration, which will be held Mar. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A balloon show, live music, crafts, refreshments, a surfer photo booth and other revelry will take place at the open house.
The library was to allow for the renovations. They included a replacement of the first-floor carpet; enhancements to the storytelling space for children and teens; new computer stations, seats, displays and shelves; the rewiring of computer systems in the children's and adults' sections; and additional chairs and tables.
