New Bench At Santa Monica Dog Park

The fifth bench was installed Monday morning at the park on Bundy Drive and Donald Douglas Loop.

Visitors to the Santa Monica Dog Park at Bundy Drive and Donald Douglas Loop discovered a new park bench installed at the only shady spot in the hilly dog park.

Four other benches are dotted throughout the park, but none provide respite from the sun.

The latest bench designed for the two-legged owners of their four-legged friends (although some dogs have been known to seek refuge on the benches), was installed Monday morning by Park staff during the regularly scheduled two hour closure between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. each Monday.

As of noon Monday, the bench had not yet been opened to the public, and was still surrounded by signs and caution tape.

Patch will let you know when the bench is officially designated for use.
