Santa Monica To Be Deemed 'Tsunami Ready'

The National Weather Service will designate Santa Monica as a “TsunamiReady” and “StormReady” city at the Tuesday night council meeting.

"The Office of Emergency Management works diligently to prepare those who live, work, and play in Santa Monica for emergencies or events that can occur at any time," according to a statement released by the city.

Southern California residents are encouraged to follow three basic steps for emergency preparedness: 1) have a kit, 2) make a plan, and 3) be informed.
