Southbound 405 Closed From Midnight Tuesday Through 5 a.m. Wednesday

Crews will be realigning lanes to accommodate the road-widening and drainage work.

The southbound San Diego (405) Freeway will be CLOSED between Santa Monica and National boulevards beginning at midnight TONIGHT, with the road expected to reopen at 5 a.m. tomorrow, according to Metro. Crews will be realigning lanes to accommodate the road-widening and drainage work. Ramps in the area will begin closing at 7 p.m., and some lanes will be blocked beginning around 10 p.m., according to Metro. 

Southbound motorists will be directed off the freeway at Santa Monica, then south on Sawtelle Boulevard, and back onto the freeway at National.

The ramp from the southbound 405 Freeway to the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway will also be closed, along with the ramp from the eastbound 10 to the south 405. Southbound 405 onramps will also be closed at Sunset and Wilshire boulevards to mitigate traffic.
