What's the Easiest Way to Carry Groceries Home in Santa Monica?

Input from weekly questions will be used to shape Santa Monica's Pedestrian Action Plan.

Using a backpack is the easiest way to walk to and from the market with a bag full of groceries, according to the winner of a weekly online contest put on by the city of Santa Monica.

The virtual online town hall features questions and the city is handing out prizes to participants.

Last week’s Featured Question of the Week raffle winner was Chris Taylor who answered: “What tips do you have for making it easy to walk to the market or other destinations where you might need to carry something home?”

Taylor’s tip was to take a day/back pack as it is much easier than carrying a bag with handles and can hold more than enough for a full meal.

This week’s featured question is: “Does concern for your personal safety keep you from walking any place in Santa Monica?  If so, where?” Community residents are invited to talk about this and other questions online at http://pedplan.santamonicatownhall.org.

The website features several topics related to walking in Santa Monica, from where people like to walk and where safety improvements are needed, to how they plan to get to future Expo stations.

Community members can share their ideas, upload photos, add comments, and support ideas from other residents. Input received will be used to shape Santa Monica’s Pedestrian Action Plan.
