Vanilla Bake Shop Has Santa Monica's Best Cupcakes

The polls have officially closed. We’ve tallied the votes, the comments and the reviews, and we’ve made our decision in this week’s .

The best cupcakes in town can be found at . The bakery received 55 percent of the votes, while came in second with 37 percent of the vote. 

Truthfully, you can’t go wrong with cupcakes from either of these great bakeries.

One Yelp reviewer wrote: "I am in love with the Vanilla in Santa Monica and nearly fainted with joy when they opened a location in the Century City mall. It instantly became my biggest curse, having the bake shop right there every week, in a place where I would pass it by several times. But who am I kidding... I never just walk past."

Vanilla Bake Shop is also known for their cakes, which come in similar flavors to the cupcake selections, and include recipes such as southern red velvet, chocolate truffle and banana chocolate chip.
