Santa Monica Airport's 3rd Annual Open House Draws Crowds

The free event drew kids and kids at heart.

Taking advantage of a perfect Southern California day of sunshine, young and old headed down to Santa Monica Airport's 3rd Annual Open House on Saturday.

The free event allowed attendees to get up close and personal with vintage and modern aircraft, with many excited kids (and kids at heart) having an opportunity to sit in the cockpits of some of the planes.

The only thing that wasn't free (unless you were under 12) was entrance to the Museum of Flying. However, it was $5 (half price) for the day.

Food trucks selling hot dogs, ice cream and other fare made plenty of money as families sat and ate their snacks on the lawn.
