LAST MINUTE POLITICAL BLITZ
The developer funded super PAC, Santa Monicans United for a Responsible Future, is going all out with a last minute whirlwind of political advertising using our neighborhoods as cover.
Over the past few days, a series of deceptive pamphlets have suddenly appeared in mailboxes and on doorsteps in the Ocean Park and Mid Cities neighborhoods. In Ocean Park, the misleading pieces have been left in reusable bright green shopping bags emblazoned with the names of Gleam Davis, Shari Davis, Terry O’Day and Ted Winterer claiming Firefighter, Police and Educator support.
These fallacious pamphlets are promoting pro development candidates for city council by making up generic, plain vanilla neighborhood values that are the opposite of what these developers want to bring to our city. The developers then claim that “their” candidates are for these “pretend” values.
There are NO neighborhood associations in front of or behind this cynical political advertising. This attempt to hide behind neighborhoods and neighborhood groups is meant to fool voters in order to elect a pro developer council that will approve their massive projects.
