Our Santa Monica Bay: Gabrieleno-Tongva of Yesterday and Today

On Tuesday March 22, the Santa Monica Bay Woman's Club will host a free lecture on the Native Americans of this area as lecture two in the series Our Santa Monica Bay. The Gabrieleno Tongva Indians are the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin.  The Tongva Springs site (now the University High School and surrounding area) was once a thriving self contained village and home of the Tongva people.  This talk by Angie Dorame Behrns traces the history of the Gabrieleno Tongva from earliest times right up to the present day.
