SM Fire Department Disaster Assistance Response Training (DART)

The Fire Department’s Training Division offers Disaster Assistance Response Training to residents and anyone who works in Santa Monica. The one-day course is designed to provide citizens with the skills to help better prepare themselves in the event of a disaster. Some topics include heavy lifting, shutting off gas and water utilities, bleeding control, and how to use a fire extinguisher.

The course is usually held on a Saturday from 8:30am to 3:30 pm, in January, April, July, and October, and is free to participants. Class dates are posted on the Santa Monica Fire Department website at santamonicafire.org. If class participation is less than 20 individuals you will receive a cancellation notice 24 hours in advance of class date.
