The head baseball coach at —who won two Ocean League titles in three years and a couple Coach of the Year awards—is off the roster.
The Santa Monica Daily Press reported Friday that coach Sheldon Philip-Guide was fired last week when the school's administration told him it's headed in a different direction. Philip-Guide told the newspaper he wasn't given a chance to defend his record.
Alumni and players are reportedly upset by the school's decision.
Philip-Guide "is one of the only coaches that puts in time. He's done amazing things for our program," shortstop Mason Landis told the Daily Press.
