SMMEF Almost $1 Million Short of Goal

The Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation is encouraging everyone to donate by the Jan. 31 deadline.

The Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation is approximately $1 million short of its fundraising goal from the campaign to receive $4 million, reports the Santa Monica Daily Press.

The campaign was made to raise money in order to hire more teachers' aides, reduce class sizes, and provide arts instruction for elementary school students, according to the SMDP article.

"Officials with the Ed Foundation are encouraging families, community members and business leaders to donate to the Vision for Student Success before the Jan. 31 deadline," states the SMDP.
