Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Looks to Community for Logo Redesign

A volunteer panel of graphic design experts will judge the submissions.

By Jessica E. Davis

The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District is calling on all members of the community to submit original logo for a competition aimed at creating a new design.

Submissions must be original and can be created using any medium except for photography.

"The logo should be simple, easily replicable, and memorable," the district said in a statement.

SMMUSD's mission statement, which should be reflected in the design, is: Extraordinary achievement for all students while simultaneously closing the achievement gap.
