Lionsgate Pens Deal with TMG to Distribute Films in Germany, Austria

The multi-year deal follows six years of TMG-Summit output agreements, which covered the "Twilight" movies.

Santa Monica-based Lionsgate announced a long-term agreement today with Tele Munchen Group, covering the distribution of its Summit label films in Germany and Austria in all media.

The renewed relationship comes just in time for the April 10 release of "Divergent" in Germany and Austria and covers the upcoming titles such as "The Last Witch Hunter," starring Vin Diesel, "Gods of Egypt," director Alex Proyas' re-envisioning of mythical ancient Egypt, and the sequel to last year's "Now You See Me."

"We're delighted to elevate our long-standing partnership with TMG to the next level and expand and fortify our relationship with a pipeline loaded with potential franchises and star-driven branded properties," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-chairmen Patrick Wachsberger and Rob Friedman stated in a joint release.
