Charlie Sheen to Pitch in for Samohi Baseball Team

The actor and other celebrities are scheduled to participate in a celebrity-poker fundraiser next month.

Charlie Sheen, who memorably played Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn in the big-screen satire Major League, is pitching in to raise money for 's baseball team. The actor is one of many celebrities scheduled to participate in the Vikings' upcoming third annual Celebrity Poker and Auction, hosted by the Santa Monica Diamond Club.

Former baseball players Kenney Lofton, Derek Lee and Tim Leary (a Santa Monica native), as well as retired football player Michael Strahan, are slated to join Sheen at the poker tournament. It will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the .

Also due to participate are film actors and TV personalities Morris Chestnut (Boyz n the Hood, V); Christina DeRosa (Reno 911!, General Hospital); Tony Todd (Candyman, Final Destination); Syrus Yarbrough (The Real World; also a Santa Monica native); Matt Gallant (former host of The Planet's Funniest Animals); and Deidre Hall (Days of Our Lives). Hall will also be there to sign copies of her new book, How Does She Do It?

The cost to participate in the poker tournament is $75 before Nov. 9 and $10 more after that. The fee includes a buy-in. Aside from the tournament, the event will also feature a dinner, a silent auction, poker lessons, music and prizes. Non-tournament tickets are $50.

All proceeds will go to the Samohi Vikings baseball team. Go here to buy tickets.
