Palisades Park Tour
Come join Santa Monica Conservancy docents for a walk through time, revealing landscapes, historical structures, fascinating people, monuments and works of art. The City’s founders set aside this land, preserving its breathtaking ocean views forever in the public domain. The park has evolved to reflect the City’s personality and is a virtual outdoor museum of the City’s history, aspirations, and evolution. Docent guides will present the park’s secrets and stories on a one-mile walk through this designated City Landmark.
The tour concludes a visit to the Camera Obscura, a 19th century optical device that shows the bustling beachfront below from the seclusion of a dark closet-sized theater.
The walk is one-way, beginning at the park’s north end and takes about two hours.
There will be a mini-bus transportation provided from the check-in at the Visitor Center.
