Samohi Volleyball Still No. 1 in CIF Rankings
The Vikings remain atop Division 4; New Roads baseball rises to No. 2 in Division 7.
The CIF released its weekly , and teams from Santa Monica high schools are ranked in four sports.
In boys volleyball, continues to top the Division 4 rankings and sits in first place in the , having defeated rivals Beverly Hills, Inglewood and Culver City. remains ninth in Division 5, and the Mariners (10-5-2, 7-0) clinched the title outright with a victory Wednesday at Gardena Serra.
In baseball, moved up one spot to No. 2 in Division 7 and is now behind only Nuevo Nuview Bridge, the first place team in the Warrior League. New Roads blanked Windward 4-0 on Saturday for its sixth win in a row. The Jaguars (9-1, 3-0) lead the standings.

In softball, St. Monica moved back into the Division 5 poll at No. 10 after winning seven straight before Tuesday's 7-6 nonleague loss to Culver City. The Mariners (11-6, 6-2) are in second place in the Camino Real League behind Mary Star of the Sea, but dealt the Stars their first league loss, 10-9, last week.
In boys tennis, Santa Monica is holding at No. 3 in Division 2 behind Palm Desert and Arcadia. The Vikings beat rival Beverly Hills 10-8 and are in first place in the Ocean League.
