Santa Monica Basketball, Soccer Players Named All-CIF

Athletes from various high schools in the city have earned soccer and basketball honors.

The CIF All-Southern Section basketball and soccer teams have been selected, and athletes who attend school in Santa Monica have been chosen in every sport.

Here's a look at the local players who made the list in their respective divisions:

In boys basketball, junior of made the team in Division 5AA, and junior of made the Division 6AA squad. Whiteto averaged 18.1 points and 1.2 blocks per game for the Mariners; Walker led the Seawolves with 21.7 points, 3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per contest.

In girls basketball, senior , who has signed with UCLA, made the team in Division 1AA after leading the Vikings with 13.7 points per game. Senior of St. Monica made the Division 5AA team after leading the Mariners in points per game (15.6), rebounds per game (7.0), assists per game (2.4), steals per game (2.2) and blocks per game (1.7). She also became the school's all-time leading scorer.

In boys soccer, senior midfielder of Samohi made the Division 4 squad and UCLA-bound senior goalkeeper of made the Division 6 team. Tenzer won the Adidas Golden Glove for Cal-South at the 2010 United States Youth Soccer ODP Championships.

In girls soccer, University of Arizona-bound senior midfielder of Samohi made the Division 4 team after tallying 29 goals and eight assists for the Vikings.
