Santa Monica to Host Rose Bowl Pep Rallies

Parties for the University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin will take place at the Santa Monica Pier Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

Santa Monica will host the universities of Oregon and Wisconsin for their 98th Rose Bowl Game pep rallies.

Free and open to the public, the pep rallies will feature food from local restaurants vendors and a variety of entertainment.

The schools' marching bands, players, cheerleaders and school dignitaries are traditionally on hand for the pre-game festivities, which will take place in the 1550 parking lot just north of the .

Wisconsin's pep rally will take place 3-5 p.m. Dec. 31 and University of Oregon's pep rally will take place 3-5 p.m. Jan. 1.

"Santa Monica is excited to once again welcome two champion teams," Mayor Richard Bloom said in a statement. "I believe that one thing all fans will agree on is that Santa Monica offers a broad range of world class amenities to enjoy before and after the Parade and game."
