Santa Monica Skater Wins Big at X Games

Lizzie Armanto of Santa Monica took home a gold medal at the first women's skate park contest at the X Games in Barcelona earlier this month.

Armanto began skating in 2007 with her younger brother, and she has quickly risen to the top of the women's skate scene. 

She began working in 2012 with StepUp, an organization that promotes skateboarding in developing countries. Armanto is currently a student at Santa Monica City College.
