Turkey Trots in the Greater Los Angeles Area

A round-up of local races where you can prepare for or recover from holiday caloric intake.

You know the drill on Thanksgiving Day, but with the cooking, eating, resting, digesting and festing, a 5K or a 10K holiday race is one way many locals kick off or recover from Thanksgiving—and feel less guilty about a second helping at dinner.

Here is a list of Thanksgiving-themed races all over the Greater Los Angeles area.

Long Beach Turkey Trot
Head to Long Beach on Thanksgiving morning for a 5K or a 10K fun run. (Make sure you stop by the Patch table to say hi to Nancy Wride, the editor of Long Beach Patch and Belmont Shore-Naples Patch while you're there!). The 5K and 10K races that start at 8 a.m. are sold out, but registration is still open for the 7 a.m. races, the 9 a.m. 10K, the 10 a.m. 5K, and the half-mile "Wingding" kids run.
