Cycle For Heroes at Santa Monica Pier Tonight

On the anniversary of 9/11, hundreds of people will descend on the pier at 6:30 p.m. for a three-hour stationary bike ride to raise funds for veterans, soldiers and military families.

As the country commemorates 12 years following 9/11, hundreds of people will descend on Santa Monica Pier tonight to take part in a three hour rock’n’roll inspired stationary cycling event.

Cyclists have been sponsored for the ride by friends and families and the funds raised will go directly to The Heroes Project, an organization that works with with veterans, soldiers and military families.  Its mission is to improve the care and protection of heroes through individual support, community empowerment and systematic change.

Following the three hour cycling session, there will be a short ceremony at 9:30 p.m. where the highest fundraisers will be acknowledged.
