Viewfinder: Boys & Girls Club's Day for Kids

The Saturday event encourages children to be more active.

Games were played, prizes were won and fun was had at the 's Day for Kids Carnival Celebration on Saturday. Boys & Girls Clubs across the U.S. participated in the free event, which encouraged children to be more active.

Kids did somersaults and cartwheels in the Moon Bounce, while others quieted down at the arts and crafts table. Older members of the Santa Monica community also attended the party.

"The mission of BGC Day for Kids is to celebrate American children through the gift of meaningful time," the organization said in a statement. "Now, more than ever, BGC Day for Kids provides adults and kids an opportunity to take a break from their busy lives and celebrate the wonder of life and the fulfillment of spending time together."
