Xzibit 'Ready to Role' With Boys & Girls Club

The "Pimp My Ride" host will visit the club's Santa Monica headquarters on Aug. 11.

LeBron James isn't the only high-profile individual giving the a boost these days. On Tuesday, the organization announced it has another big name in its corner: rapper Xzibit.

Xzibit, who is a former B&GC member and host of MTV's Pimp My Ride, will be at the organization's Santa Monica headquarters from 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 11 for a new initiative called "Ready to Role."

Through the brand-new program, presented by oil-filter brand Fram, technicians will teach club members basic car maintenance skills (upkeep, repair, etc.) in an effort to boost their confidence.

"Ready to Role" will also help provide mentoring to the 11-to-14-year-old boys participating in the club’s “Passport to Manhood” program. The latter, 14-session program focuses on different aspects of manhood.

Xzibit's appearance will be the latest in a series of recent milestones for the SMBGC. Late last month, the club announced that it would be getting $3,500 for after-school programs thanks to a larger grant made by Bank of America.
