Here's a handful of things to keep in mind for today.

    • Santa Monica High School students return to school on Aug. 22. Classes begin at 8:15 a.m., according to the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District website. 
    • In that same back-to-school vein, auditions for the fall play begin at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at Santa Monica High School.
    • Check Santa Monica Patch's live traffic map before heading out to work or to run errands this week.
