Yesterday, on my way to the Coastal Commission Hearing, we received an ugly, disrespectful, unnecessary piece of garbage in flyer form from the Miramar, accusing, not only the owner of the Huntley Hotel, but all of us, residents of “wanting to change” Santa Monica! I had to read this garbage couple times to make sure I was not mistaken.
If there was a fire sale in SM, we missed it. Why the frantic pace of development? No mere mortal can evaluate and understand and make sane recommendations, and constructive decision at the pace these development projects are brought to Council. We asked for a freeze, which was on the Agenda introduced by Council Members McKeown, Winterer, and Vasquez, on June 11, 2013. We could not get one single vote from the “gang of four” who have no shame sitting there, and ruining the City, as well as, our process!
The FIRST responsibility of the City officials are to the residents of this City! You are there to SERVE the PUBLIC! If it does not work for you, please, do not waste our money, our city, our bluffs, our parks, our health. LEAVE the Council and the Santa Monica City Government! Developers? All out of town – many Texans included, developers have descended on our City like vultures, polluting public meetings, polluting our cities, polluting our process, buying our elections. And now we are caught in the middle of yet another mudslinging campaign!

And here it is: Dear Mr. Dell, paid lobbyists, and paid goons; Please, take your filthy flyers, filthy money, filthy paid officials and GET OUT of our City! No, we are not bought out by Huntley, but we know you have bought out more than half of our City Council, our Planning Department, our elections, and our processes!
I don’t belong to any neighborhood groups, yet I had the opportunity to visit many. WE, as residents, DO NOT WANT and DO NOT NEED your luxury condominiums, high rises, outside money in Santa Monica. We do not need some outsiders, and your paid lobbyists to tell us what we need. You have done enough damage. NOW, LEAVE! --
