More than 245 acres of state beach and 26 community parks comprise the open-space system in Santa Monica. The Community & Cultural Services Department's Open Space Management Division works with policy development to encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of the city's beaches and parks. The division also coordinates all services related to the beaches and parks.
