Fairmont Miramar Luxury Hotel & Bungalows offers luxury accommodations right across the street from the beach. The hotel, originally built in 1889 as the Miramar, a residence for Nevada senator John P. Jones, one of the founders of Santa Monica, has a long history in the city. The home was sold in 1912 to King C. Gillette, inventor of the safety razor, and, in 1921, was again sold, to Gilbert Stevenson, who converted the estate into a hotel.

During the 1920s the Miramar was the city's most popular hotel, with apartments built for long-term guests, Greta Garbo being among the first to move in. Over the years, the Miramar became a destination for many celebrities and political figures, more bungalows were added and ownership changed several times.

Today, accomodations are available in the standard guest rooms, suites and bungalows. Guests have access to a wide range of luxury amenities, including babysitting, concierge, housekeeping, laundry service, gift shops, fitness center and a pool. Fig Restaurant is located in the hotel, as is Exhale Spa, which offers an array of spa services. Business services are available, as well as facilities for events and meetings of up to 900 people.
