As a volunteer admissions recruiter for Johns Hopkins for 15 years, Evelyn Alexander represented Hopkins at college fairs, interviewed students, visited high schools, and trained other alumni around the country to volunteer in these capacities.  She now offers a variety of college admissions counseling services, helping students optimize their high school achievements and activities and present a complete picture to colleges and universities.  She also helps families take some of the stress out of the complicated college application process.

Evelyn served for seven years as President of the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association’s Los Angeles chapter, and on the National Alumni Council for six years.  She co-chaired the JHU Second Decade Society’s Admissions Committee for seven years, creating and implementing a national program to recruit underrepresented minority students to Hopkins.

Before embarking on her career in college counseling, Evelyn was a successful political consultant and public relations executive.   She oversaw communications and public affairs projects for multiple corporate and non-profit clients and guided dozens of candidates for political office to victory.  She published eight op-eds in the Los Angeles Times, the Daily News and the San Fernando Valley Business Journal, and authored a full-length article in Campaigns & Elections Magazine about a land use initiative whose victory she secured.

Evelyn holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins and a Master of Arts from the George Washington University.  She has completed the coursework for UCLA's Certificate in College Counseling.  A Los Angeles native, she has held a private pilot’s license for over 15 years.  She lives with her husband in Beverly Glen.
