Blog | Hole in the Wall Burger Joint Coming to Santa Monica—But Not Promenade

Highly-regarded West L.A. burger spot, Hole in the Wall, is moving to Santa Monica, just not the Promenade location initially rumored.

Contrary to a myriad of online reports, Hole in the Wall Burger Joint, is not moving to Santa Monica's Third Street Promenade after all. Rather, the West L.A. home to some of LA's best beef and turkey burgers plans to relocate to another Santa Monica spot—2200 Colorado Avenue.

The new location will open the first week of January. Fret not, Westside burger aficionados, the current location will continue to sling burgers until then. And while many may view the new location as a bit random and less than ideal, I would argue the contrary. The Yahoo/MTV/DMV area is crawling with lunch-goers during the week and the weekends appear primed to be fruitful in the near future with the ongoing Metro construction nearby. Also major freaking bonus: the new Hole in the Wall will come with free two hour parking (parking was a major problem at the original location). Furthermore, the sparkly new Colorado Avenue location will expand the HitW menu to include sandwiches, desserts and more sides.

The West Hollywood location will remain at its current stomping grounds.

Vice President Joe Biden tried Tuesday to rally Congress to act on gun control legislation, sayingRead More that "the country has changed and [politicians] will pay a political price for not getting engaged and dealing with gun safety." "As proud as the president and I am of the progress we have made, we need Congress to act," Biden said in a speech delivered at the White House. "The American people are demanding it. We need to make sure that the voices of the ones we lost are the loudest ones we here in this fight." Specifically, Biden was referring to politicians like Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), who saw her approval rating plummet after she voted against legislation that would expand background checks. Sen. Jeff Flake's (R-AZ) and Sen. Mark Begich's (D-AK) ratings also took a nosedive. On the otherside, Democrats in red states, like Sens. Mary Landrieu (LA) and Kay Hagan (NC), got a slight boost in their approval ratings after they voted in favor of the gun control legislation. The vice president also released a set of federal guidelines Tuesday for developing high quality emergency operations for schools, higher education institutions and places of worship. "We made sure the guide reflects all the lessons we've learned over the years," he said.
